This year I was chosen to lead a segment of Creative Media Camp 2017. As the name suggests it’s a week long creative media workshop. Students aged around 14-20 take part and learn a variety of creative digital skills. They also gain experience of how the creative industries work as the segments are led by experienced practitioners including myself. Four groups tackled different creative briefs which required them to communicate one of the UN Sustainable Development goals.
This group, “RAAW” chose the subject of poverty reduction. Watch their video to see what they did.
“Beyond Civitas” looked at sustainable cities.
“Nanoco” explored poverty reduction.
And last but not least “ISM” tackled the UN Sustainable Development goal of health improvement.
Alongside the students and the workshop leaders there were student ambassadors from the University of Arts London (the camp was held at the Chelsea campus). Here is a touching blog post by one of our ambassadors about everything she learned throughout the week and her experience working with those taking part in the creative workshops.
The Creative Media Camp is run by the Ideas Foundation and Canon Europe.
