The People Speak returned to Imperial Science Festival in May 2017. This time with a slightly younger audience we talked about time travel, how you can change the world and what can be done about Donald Trump? Mikey and I co-hosted the discussion and we went to some strange and peculiar places, even by our standards!
Hosting a talk show at an event like Hackstock is always going to be interesting. The discussions are vibrant and bonkers with ideas coming at you from all directions. From virtual reality to science fiction, hallucinogens, existentialism, politics, art, science, all areas of philosophy, spirituality and technology, we went there…
There was even a special guest appearance by some members of Kraftwerk!
Talkaoke, in conjunction with Chat Lab from Queen Mary, was at ExCel Centre in London for 4 days of New Scientist Live, a festival of ideas and discovery.
There’s also lots of photos from the event here…
We had some glorious weather at this years Imperial College Science Festival. I hosted some outdoor Talkaoke shows and as always the vibrant conversation went everywhere! We talked about what people had seen and done at the festival, about EU politics, religion, the pros and cons of various scientific fields and more.
I hosted some Talkaoke sessions at Hackstock, part of 2016’s London Science Fiction Festival.
The theme was virtual reality so most conversations started there then soon deviated into strangely wild and unexpected areas…
This may have been the day I lost the source of all my powers. But it was worth it!
I had around twenty-one inches of hair cut off which was apparently enough to make three wigs.
Using the £1070 I raised Little Princess Trust will have these wigs produced and then delivered to three young sufferers of chemotherapy induced hair loss.
And a special thanks to Uffizi in South West London for kindly cutting my hair.
